life list

Taking a cue from Maggie Mason, this is a stab at my very own bucket list. You may note that several items were blatantly stolen inspired by her list, but hey, the girl’s got taste. The list will continue to grow as more things come to me and I start crossing off what I already have, hopefully I’m in for some adventures worth sharing.

  1. Take a family portrait (regularly)
  2. Contribute an article to an industry publication
  3. Speak at SXSW
  4. Write a book
  5. Become a Dad (shhh… don’t tell my husband)
  6. Travel the Greek isles with my husband
  7. Develop pecs
  8. Start a business
  9. Become debt free
  10. Grow (some of) my own food
  11. Go to Australia
  12. Run a 10k
  13. Live by water
  14. Live in San Francisco
  15. Visit Tokyo
  16. Throw a lavish anniversary party
  17. Own a hot tub
  18. Take a drawing class
  19. Draw/Paint/photograph A suitable-for-framing rendering of my husband
  20. Write letters to living artists/authors/thinkers that inspire me
  21. Be legally married to my husband under federal law
  22. Write a poem I’m proud of (or at least not embarrassed of)
  23. Complete a Miranda July Project
  24. Complete an art project with my husband
  25. Naked bike ride
  26. Make a wedding album
  27. Finish or give up all of my unfinished projects
  28. Write a song on the guitar
  29. Learn a language well enough to survive a weekend trip 100% English free
  30. Own a retriever
  31. Get in the habit of grand loving gestures (stolen, but sincere)
  32. Maintain a blog @in progress
  33. Design a family crest/monogram
  34. Write an application
  35. Show a film in a festival
  36. Make my own beer
  37. Bay to Breakers
  38. Run a 5k
  39. Run a marathon with my sister
  40. Complete a detailed family tree
